The regular meeting of the Lakeland Board of Commissioners (BOC), scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, has been cancelled due to a confirmed lack of quorum. Items that were set to be addressed tonight will be deferred to the next regular meeting, which will take place on September 19th.
City Manager Michael Walker announced the cancellation, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused but hoping the early notice would save attendees from planning on coming to City Hall.
Several key items were on the agenda for tonight’s meeting, including:
- Approval of the purchase of a Chevrolet 2500 truck for the Parks and Recreation department.
- Approval of Memphis Light Gas and Water (MLGW) work order WO1447980 for electrical utility service at the Lakeland Athletic Complex.
- Approval of pavilion purchases for both International Harvester Managerial Park and City Hall Park.
- Appointment of the At-Large 6 member to the City of Lakeland Community Advisory Board.
- Approval of a multi-year agreement with CivicPlus for the renewal of SeeClickFix.
- Consideration of a resolution supporting the creation of a comprehensive juvenile rehabilitation and detention center in West Tennessee, sponsored by Mayor Roman.
These items will be carried forward to the September 19th meeting. Community members are encouraged to attend to stay informed on city developments.
