The Lakeland City 9-10 basketball team was victorious in their championship play Wednesday night (2.21.18) at LMPS, according to a team mom and coach’s wife.
Brittney Buchanan reported the team won back-to-back wins to take the championship. “They were the underdog going into both games,” said Mrs. Buchanan. Her husband Jonathan coached the team along with Steve Grandchamp.
The team was sponsored by the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department and played at Lakeland Middle Preparatory School (LMPS).
The last playoff and championship game day is Saturday for the 11-14 yr. olds, according to Wendi Haley, recreation program supervisor.
