Yehuda Netanel, owner and developer of The Lake District project located at the corner of I-40 and Canada Rd was in town today to provide some updates to the press about the current status of the nearly 400 million dollar project. Also in attendance were multiple members of the Memphis press, as well as local elected officials including Commissioners Wright, Dial, Gonzales, and Vice Mayor Roman.
According to Maggie Gallagher, Director of Development for The Lake District, phase one of the project is now 90% leased out and phase two of the project is now underway. A meeting will be held this Thursday, June 6, at The Capital Grille in Memphis with prospective business owners interested in phase two.
Phase one leases include well know businesses such as Malco’s, Starbucks, Memphis Barbecue Company, Osaka, Hollywood Feed, and more.
Mr. Netenel also announced the clearing part of phase one is now complete and grading is now officially underway. 7 pieces of large equipment worked the site before and after the announcement this morning.
