The Executive Director of Keep Tennessee Beautiful (KTnB) was the guest speaker at the March Lakeland Chamber of Commerce luncheon today (3.28.18) at Stonebridge Golf Club.
Missy Marshall shared information about the “Ready. Set. Grow!” 5K event which will be at 6 p.m. April 20 at the Delta Blues Winery in Lakeland.
The event helps raise awareness about KTnB and efforts to inspire Tennesseans to take action on litter prevention, recycling and beautification in their communities.
All proceeds go to the University of Memphis KTnB Foundation. The money is used to fund scholarships for students planning to study environmental conservation. Proceeds also go to develop community environmental education grants to be used across the state.
Early registration ends April 19 and onsite registration and packet pickup starts at 4 p.m. April 20 at the Winery. It is open to all ages, walking or running. “We want to promote not only a healthy lifestyle for Tennesseans, but also encourage a healthy state too,” said Mrs. Marshall.
