It’s a New Season

It’s official today (9.22.18).

Fall begins with the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.

During the equinox, the Sun crosses the “celestial equator” from north to south. Because of this, Earth’s two hemispheres receive the Sun’s rays about equally. The Sun is overhead at noon as seen from the equator, so at this point, the amount of nighttime and daytime (sunlight) are roughly equal to each other.

Going forward, the temperatures begin to drop and the days start to get shorter than the nights.

It’s time for sweaters and hoodies, the crunch of fallen leaves, a hearty bowl of chili, vibrant colors of orange and gold, football and more football.
