It’s likely to be a rainy day, but that won’t deter the annual Lakeland Halloween Festival Sunday (10.22.17)
Originally planned as an outdoor event at IH Park (4523 Canada Road), the Festival now will be inside the IH Clubhouse, according to Kim Odom, Lakeland special events coordinator.
Mrs. Odom said the hours remain the same, 1-4 p.m. and the family friendly activity is still free with a variety of activities and food trucks.
It is sponsored by the Lakeland Lions Club and Trustmark Bank.
Activities include: Trick-or-treating, face painting, photos with costumed characters, pumpkin picking, vendors showcasing their goods and serving as a trick-or-treat stations. Mr. Mike the Balloon Man and plenty of prize giveaways.
There is a costume contest divided by age groups beginning around 1:30 p.m.: 2 and under; 3-6; 7-9; 10-13; 14-18 and family. All first, second and third place winners in the costume contest will receive a trophy.
Vendors include AT&T, Bartlett Pediatrics Dentistry, Boomerang Escapes, Lakeland Currents, Lakeland Stormwater, Lift Church, Lakeland Lions Club, Memphis Grizz, Memphis Redbirds, Opulenza Designs, Orangetheory, Pop-A-Lock, Sprouts Farmers Market, Urban Forestry, USPTA Tennis and more.
Food trucks: Beakers Sno Cones and Yum Yum’s Gourmet Popcorn.
