Crowds filled the IH Park Saturday night (7.27.19) for the third in a series of five free outdoor concerts at the LAMP in Lakeland featuring the Will Tucker Band.
The concerts are sponsored by Sprouts Farmers Market and hosted by the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department and Public Works Department.

Kevin Rooney, director of the City Parks and Recreation Department along with Commissioners Wesley Wright and Michele Dial received a $5,000 check from Caroline Harris, regional marketing specialist with Sprouts. The Grocery is the headline sponsor this season of the LAMP concerts. Sprouts also gave out three $25 gift cards as well as samples and coupons during the concert.
Mr. Rooney said 2019 is the biggest year for number of sponsors and sponsor dollars for the LAMP.
“The other sponsors we have are Homes for Heroes, Faye Jones Team. They are donating $1,000 over the next three years along with services for the Parks Department. They provided us with the digital walkthrough of the IH Clubhouse on our website. He is considered a top tier sponsor of Parks and Rec.
“Dicks Sporting Goods is donating $500 and equipment to our rec programs.
“Lastly, Cannon Chiropractic will be at each concert and special event, and will donate $25 to the Parks Department for any new clients who sign up and got to their office for a visit.”
Mr. Rooney said the Lakeland Lions Club usually donates $500 to the Parks and Rec Department.
Other vendors along the walking path through the park included Doterra Essential Oil with Terry Mecklin; Boomerang Escapes; F45 Fitness; City of Lakeland Recycling; School of Rock; Mathnasium; and Renewal by Andersen.
As with other concerts in the free summer series, entertainment included inflatables, face-painting and Mr. Balloon Man for children and student volunteers from Volunteer Lakeland. Primal Flames Grill Food Truck was on hand along with the Parks and Rec Snack Bar on the deck.
Food available for purchase was from Central BBQ and Poplar Tropical, as well as the Snack Bar presented by the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department, which also had T-shirts promoting the event for sale.
