Harbor Freight, the discount tool company that also sells a variety of other products, is coming to Lakeland. This according to Donald Anthony who is the Planning Director for the city of Lakeland. Mr. Anthony told members of the Lakeland EDC (Economic Development Council) the Calabasas, CA based company has applied for signage in the vacant space next to Sprouts grocery store on Highway 64 in Lakeland.
Online searches show current job openings for Harbor Freight in Lakeland. That includes the company currently looking for a store manager in the upcoming Lakeland location.
The space next to Sprouts has been vacant for years and Harbor Freight should do well in that location according to Commissioner Wesley Wright. “Most retail could not make use of a space that size so it worked out well,” he said. He added, “I believe Harbor Freight will be a welcome sight for many people who appreciate a hardware store in their backyard.”
