Geography Bee at LMPS this week

Daniel Tchoparov was the winner in the LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) National Geographic Bee Wednesday (1.15.20).  He will take an online test to determine if he qualifies as LMPS’ representative in the state National Geographic GeoBee this spring in Nashville.

Second place winner was Porter Butterfield and Gino Rouss placed third. Other contestants included Kalen Bingham, Bret Cartwright, Sean Crewson, Kaleb Ivory and Jacob Scarborough.

Judge for the competition was Dr. Ted Horrell, Lakeland School System superintendent. Scorekeeper was Alexa Tutor, LMPS PTO president.  Michelle Childs, Lakeland School Board member, was the timekeeper and Audrey Abel, 7th grade social studies teacher, was the pronouncer. Ms. Abel and Kim Clemens, 5th grade science and social studies teacher, were coordinators.
