Free Bicentennial Event “Celebrate Memphis” for May 25th

Memphis turns 200-years old this year and a free celebration is planned for May 25th at Tom Lee Park.

Memphis in May joins the City’s bicentennial commemoration with a new event: Celebrate Memphis.  The City’s rich heritage and colorful history will be honored.  Gates open at 3 p.m.  Blankets, lawn chairs and outside food, beverages and coolers are permitted for this free event.

The night of fireworks, food, performances and first-ever public drone light show will be among activities at the special edition of the finale of the Memphis in May month-long salute to Memphis.

Also featured will be the world’s longest picnic table, air show, family and sports zones and a mobile Memphis mural.
