After many months of preparation involving late night rehearsals, set building, costumes, and the list goes on – audiences were able to witness a delightful musical production. A lot of moving parts contribute to each performance sound, lighting and staging are integral parts that occur “behind the scenes” while the actors and actresses showcase their talents on stage. Even with a canceled showing Friday evening to make sure cast, crew and audience members were safe from the tornado threat – the shows run was a success. Attendance grew after each LPS Theatre Company showing. Sixty-five LPS students were involved in the production of Freaky Friday.
LPS Theatre Company High School Director Jeff White and Middle School Director Alison Garland draw from students 6th through 9th grade for their productions in the Fall and Spring. Each student participates in a variety of LPS programs from Orchestra, to Choir, Band, and sports such as Soccer and Tennis. A diverse blend of talented students bands together each time and create something really special. After Sunday’s final performance it was bittersweet to see the students recognized who were not coming back next year. A few tears were shed.
