Fall back Sunday

Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends tomorrow (11.4.18).  Turn your clock backwards one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Sunrise and sunset will be about an hour earlier Sunday than today.

The cycle (DST) begins anew on March 10, 2019.

In July, the “Sunshine Protection Act” went into effect in Florida, making daylight saving time year-round in the Sunshine State.  But to date, the required congressional approval has not happened.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican in Miami, filed two bills to make the change permanent.  But the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee in Washington failed to act. It was introduced, but so far, no votes.

Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii don’t observe DST nor does American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Marianas.
