Early vote totals posted for The Refuge Church in Lakeland

In the first four days of early voting (Oct. 17-20, 2018) 2,200 have voted at The Refuge Church in Lakeland. (These are not necessarily all Lakeland voters because of early vote rules in Shelby County.)

Lakeland is selecting a mayor, two commissioners and three school board members in the state and federal general and municipal election Nov. 6.

The largest number of voters at the Church during the first four days was Friday with 614 followed by Wednesday with 611.

Early voting continues through Nov. 1.

Voters are allowed to cast ballots at any early vote location in Shelby County but must vote by precinct on Election Day. Thus early vote totals at any location don’t necessarily represent a particular municipality.

There are four precincts in Lakeland with a current total of eligible Lakeland voters of 9,148.  Linda Phillips, administrator of elections at the Shelby County Election Commission (SCEC), said today (10.22.18) she expects to have qualified voter totals updated by the end of the week.

There are 4 precincts which serve Lakeland according to Ms. Phillips:

ARL02-L          Arlington Middle School

LAK01-L          First Baptist Church

LAK02-L          St. Paul UMC

STE00-L          Oak Springs Baptist Church
