Early voting begins today in the Tennessee Senate District 32 Special Election which impacts Lakeland, according to the Shelby County Election Commission (SCEC).
Democrat Eric Coleman will face off with Republican Paul Rose to fill the seat vacated by Sen. Mark Norris who was named a federal judge in Tennessee in October. District 32 includes Lakeland.
The election date is March 12th.
Early voting begins in Lakeland Feb. 27th although it starts today at the SCEC, 980 Nixon Dr. in Memphis. The last day for absentee requests is March 5th with early vote ending March 7th.
Voters in precincts Lak-01, Lak-02 and Ste-00 are eligible to vote in this election.
