Fifty-four students at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) have been named 7th Grade Duke TIP (Talent Identification Program) Scholars, according to Misty Manthe, school counselor.
Mrs. Manthe said the students are given the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT. The competition is open to current seventh grade students who qualify through one of three methods:
- Score at or above the 95th percentile on an accepted grade-level national standardized achievement or abilities test
- Score at or above the 95th percentile on a state assessment
- Score 125 or above on an accepted IQ test.
