Lakeland School System announced today (January 11, 2021) they will no longer be streaming school board meetings via the city Livestream account. Rather, they have created a dedicated YouTube channel where they will stream meetings, and provide other content as well. School board meeting are typically held the first and second Tuesday of every month.
The first video loaded to the account, which was shot by Doug Burris with Renaissance Group, was a drone video of the Lakeland Prep High School construction process. Renaissance Group is the architect on record for the school project.
In the video you can see the education wing for the high school taking shape as well as the new gym and auditorium under construction. You can even see the dirt work for the softball and baseball fields starting to begin on the northeast corner of the campus.
Lakeland Prep High School will open in August 2022. The school will start with the freshman class first and add an additional grade each year thereafter.
