The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has confirmed there is a death investigation at Garner Lake today (5.20.19).
Capt. Anthony Buckner said SCSO is on the scene in the 9800 block of Windward Slopes, where a body has been located in the water.
“Preliminary information suggests that this appears to be an accidental drowning incident. The identity of the male victim has not been released,” he said.
Capt. Buckner said SCSO received the call at 12:45 p.m. today.
A neighbor who did not want to be identified said the victim is believed to live near the boat ramp where the body was found. The person was working in the yard and fell into the water, the neighbor said.
