Rehearsals are nearing an end for the first-ever theatrical production of “Peter Pan Jr.” opening this Friday (4.6.18) at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School).
And the community is invited to attend.

J.M. Barrie’s play will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 6-8) in the LMPS Cafetorium featuring 33 students and 7 backstage crew under the direction of four LMPS teachers.
The play is a first for the school which opened in August 2017 to grades 5-8. Location of LMPS is 5020 Lions Crest Drive.

Revel in the popular musical numbers: “I Won’t Grow Up” and “I’ve Gotta Crow.” Delight as Peter Pan takes the Darling children to Neverland, a place where you never grow up, to encounter pirates,
Indians, mermaids and the lost boys. Fans of the show will experience the comedic relationship of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, and Captain Hook’s never-ending goal to find Peter Pan as his fellow pirate, Smee, makes it an impossible feat.
Co-directors are Alison Garland, ESL teacher, and Mandy Christopher, sixth and eighth grade math and social studies teacher. Mrs. Garland said the inaugural production seeks to provide a platform for student actors to use their talents to take audience members on a journey to Neverland.
Mrs. Garland said Jessica Washington, a seventh grade science teacher, “…is excited to bring dance numbers to life with choreography that is fun and entertaining.”
Of Allie Barnett, special education teacher, Mrs. Garland said, “This production wouldn’t be possible without the leadership of Allie Barnett, the lead sound and lighting coordinator for the show.”
Peter Pan Jr. stars Hannah Ivy as Peter Pan, the boy who will never grow up; Ivana Cranston plays the tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, who has a larger-than-life-personality; Aditi Ravi, Pierce Browning and Aaron Cranston are the imaginative Darling siblings who learn to fly off to Neverland; Toby Harrell acts as the terrible, terrible Captain Hook, while Kris Shaw plays the gullible first mate Smee.
