An afternoon of ghoulish activities, contests and trick-or-treating awaits those who attend the free annual City of Lakeland Halloween Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at IH Park, 4523 Canada Road.
Kim Odom, special events coordinator for the City, said there will be contests for costumes and pumpkin pie eating with first, second and third place trophies going to the winners.
Contest times:
1:30 p.m. – Costumes including the family costume category
3 p.m. – Pumpkin-Pie-Eating.
Activities this year
- Giant obstacle inflatables
- Trick-or-treating among vendors and participating organizations
- Face painting
- Photos with costumed characters
- Pumpkin picking
- Vendors showcasing their products and offering treats
- Mike the Balloon Man
- Prize giveaways
Vendors registered to date are Carrot Top Designs, Lakeland Currents, Lift Church, Memphis Grizz, Orangetheory, Pop-A-Lock and Lakeland Stormwater.
Food trucks will be Calienté, Memphis Mojo Café and Beakers Sno Cones.
