A 45-year-old male sustained a leg injury from a backhoe this morning (12.21.19) at The Lake District (TLD) construction site at I-40 and Canada Road in Lakeland.
Brent Perkins, public information officer for the Shelby County Fire Department (SCFD), said the person was transported emergency status with lights and sirens to Regional One Health in Memphis.
He said the call was initiated at 10:12 a.m. today.
The Lake District project is a 160+ acre mixed-use community under construction on Phase 1 of its retail and entertainment space. It is to open fal of 2020 in time for holiday shopping.
