In addition to the twice-yearly clean-up days, the City also operates a knuckleboom loader (boom truck), offering free bulk waste pickup weekly in Lakeland. It was purchased two years ago.
The boom truck collects such items as furniture, large limbs and appliances not exceeding 10 cubic yards. There is no cost except fees for specialty items such as appliances and waste which exceeds ten cubic yards.
