Resident Elisha Hoskins suggested the idea to recognize the workers at the Kroger closest to Lakeland which is frequented by many Lakeland residents. It is located at 9025 U.S. Highway 64. The team leader/manager at the grocery is Lakeland resident Tim Roberts.
“So many people go unrecognized,” said Mrs. Hoskins. “The associates at Kroger are really looking out for us. They are working so hard cleaning every cart, sanitizing everywhere. The response is impressive.”
Monica Pitts, another resident participating in the recognition effort, said, “Lakeland residents would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the employees at Kroger for all their hard work while we are in the middle of this pandemic.”
Lakeland residents Shanda Bearden and Amy Foster own The Spot and were approached for the location to be a signing and donation point. “We agreed to allow one person inside at a time to sign and donate because we believe strongly in supporting the community.”
