Continued closures, new cancellations in Lakeland

Shane Horn, Lakeland city manager, announced today (5.29.20) that the Lakeland Senior Center, IH Clubhouse and city playgrounds will remain closed until Shelby County enters Phase 3 of the Back-to-Business Framework, which could be June 8th.

He said dates may be adjusted based on further guidance from the Shelby County Health Department.

The Declaration of Emergency for Lakeland has been extended to June 5th.

BOC (Board of Commissioners) work sessions have been cancelled for June, July and August. Commissioners will have only regular meetings during the summer.  June 11th is the date for the regular BOC business meeting.  BOC work sessions were cancelled for the summer in 2019.

The Lakeland School Board will not meet for a work session Monday (6.1.20) but will have a regular business meeting June 8th, according to Lakeland School System officials.
