The City of Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department have come up with an exciting twist on the traditional Easter Egg hunt. Since many communities have had to cancel these events due to social distancing, the Parks & Rec Dept. has thought “outside the box” to provide a family scavenger hunt in lieu of an egg hunt. Kim Odom, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Lakeland, said, “The Scavenger Hunt is a fun way for families to get out, get some fresh air and learn about their city and local businesses and the services they provide.”
From March 13-27, Lakeland businesses, parks and City facilities will have “egg” signs on display. The eggs will have QR codes to scan and fill out a questionnaire for entries to win one of three prize baskets. To aid in finding the eggs, be sure to check out the Parks & Rec and City of Lakeland Facebook pages daily for clues. The drawings will be done on these Facebook pages on Tuesday, March 30th at 4:00pm.
