The agenda for the BOC (Board of Commissioners) meeting Thursday night (7.12.18) has been posted to the City website.
Among items is a resolution authorizing the City to provide notice to terminate the contract with BFI Waste Services LLC. BFI is the same company as Republic Services.
The resolution notes the City has not been satisfied with the level of service provided by BFI due to regularly missed pick-ups, numerous mechanical issues and unacceptable overall performance that does not meet the City’s expectations. The agreement may be terminated with 180 days notice.
Also part of the meeting will be a public hearing and final reading on an ordinance amending certain provisions of the Lakeland Municipal Code related to the sale of beer.
