You can Christmas shop at Barnes & Noble this week and support Lakeland schools at the same time.
The Lakeland Education Foundation (LEF) is having a Bookfair at the Wolfchase location, 2774 N. Germantown Parkway starting Saturday (12.7.19). Mention LEF at the register and proceeds will go to the Foundation and back to Lakeland School System teachers.
Shop the brick and mortar store or online. Either way your purchases will benefit Lakeland schools and it won’t cost you any extra money. Select toys, games, books, gifts and music from the B&N inventory and support your Lakeland teachers.
The Bookfair lasts a week, so if you can’t visit the store Saturday, the deadline is Dec. 12th to make your purchases “count” for LEF and Lakeland schools.

This September, LEF filled 22 grants for 33 teachers totaling $25,000 at both Lakeland Elementary School and Lakeland Middle Preparatory School. Among the wishes from teachers were document cameras, Listening Station, Generation Genius, Flocabulary and flexible seating for students.
“Such grants are possible through individual and corporate donations to LEF,” said Amy Foster, LEF president. “Our generous community allows us to make the grants, so thank you.”
Among the goals of LEF is raising funds to support teachers and school-support organizations and clubs.
