Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts from Lakeland, Arlington and Fayette County joined forces this month to collect over 2,000 food items for the Mid-South Food Bank.
Julie Tolbert, troop leader, said the students collected 2,560 items at four area Kroger stores Feb. 2nd.
Girl Scouts Troop 10339 is a Brownie troop of second and third graders, with many at Lakeland Elementary School (LES). Troop 10007 is a Junior Girl Scout Troop who are fourth graders, six of which attend LES.
Ms. Tolbert said the troops meet at St. Philip Episcopal Church at 9380 Davies Plantation Rd. and they welcome any girls who want to join the groups.
