Annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo set for May 18th

Reel in fish and prizes at the City of Lakeland’s annual Fishing Rodeo at 8 a.m. May 18 at the IH Park Lake, 4523 Canada Rd.

Pre-register to avoid the long line for on-site registration. Sponsors are the Lakeland Lions Club and Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency.

Bring your children and/or your grandchildren, poles and bait for the Fishing Rodeo for children ages 4-12, accompanied by an adult.

On-site registration starts at 7:15 a.m. and runs through 7:55 a.m. Registration forms are available at City Hall, 10001 U.S. Highway 70 or online at www.LakelandTN.gov/events. Signed forms can be sent by email to kodom@lakelandtn.org.

The rodeo includes seven, 15-minute sessions. Winners will collect a prize at every session. Trophies will also be given out for the longest fish, most fish caught – boy, and most fish caught – girl.

First Baptist Church of Lakeland will allow participants to park in the Church parking lot for this event.
