The Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its May Membership Luncheon on Wednesday, May 27, featuring Dr. Gwendolyn Sutton, president of TCAT Memphis (Tennessee College of Applied Technology Memphis), as the guest speaker.
During the luncheon, Dr. Sutton spoke about the increasing demand for skilled labor across the Memphis area and the growing need for workforce development in technical trades. TCAT Memphis provides workforce-focused education and hands-on training in a variety of skilled trades and technical career fields, helping prepare students for in-demand careers throughout the region.
The luncheon was sponsored by Saint Francis Hospital Bartlett, while the Lakeland Arts Council served as the entertainment sponsor. Lunch was catered by Villa Castrioti, and attendees also enjoyed a special performance by student orchestra musicians.
The event brought together Chamber members, business leaders, and local residents for networking, community engagement, and insights from one of the region’s educational leaders.
