Residents across Lakeland are preparing for a busy weekend as the community’s annual Spring Yard Sale returns on April 18, 2026, with more than 70 homes expected to participate citywide.
The event, started by Wesley Wright, has grown into one of Lakeland’s most anticipated seasonal traditions. Wright, who continues to organize the sale, noted that this year’s participation marks the strongest turnout since before the COVID-19 pandemic. “This sale has had the greatest level of participation since COVID 2020,” Wright said.
While some participants are expected to begin selling on Friday, the official start time is 7 a.m. Saturday. Organizers note that additional, unregistered homes often join in, meaning shoppers can expect even more stops throughout Lakeland. All participating sales are located within city limits, allowing for convenient travel between locations.
Weather conditions are expected to be favorable, with mild temperatures forecast for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Rain is not anticipated until later in the day Saturday, and no rain date has been scheduled. Sellers are responsible for placing their own signage and ensuring it is removed by Monday following the event.
Shoppers are encouraged to arrive early, as peak activity typically occurs between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. To assist with planning, both interactive and printable maps are available online through Yard Sale Treasure Map. However, organizers caution that the app is currently experiencing a glitch that may display an incorrect date of April 25 on some pages, though April 18 remains the official event date.
The event is being promoted widely across local platforms, including Craigslist, Nextdoor, and Lakeland community Facebook groups. Although registration has closed, residents who still wish to participate can promote their individual sales by sharing their address on social media.
