Lakeland Preparatory School has named senior softball standout Savannah Miller as its Athlete of the Week following an exceptional all-around performance for the Lady Lions.
Miller delivered a dominant showing both at the plate and in the pitcher’s circle recently, helping lead her team to a strong week on the field. As the starting pitcher, she posted a 3-1 record, striking out 23 batters while allowing just six earned runs.
Offensively, Miller was equally impressive. She led the team with a remarkable .875 batting average, recording seven hits on the week, including two doubles.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Miller continues to excel in the classroom. She has earned Principal’s Honor Roll recognition every quarter this school year, highlighting her commitment to both academics and athletics.
Coaches told Lakeland Currents her performance reflects the dedication and leadership expected of a senior athlete and has played a key role in the Lady Lions’ success this season.
How Is the Athlete Of the Week Determined?
During the school year, Lakeland Currents shines a spotlight on a standout athlete who exemplifies excellence both on and off the field for the Lions. This athlete spotlight will be based on a recommendation by the school’s athletic director and coaching staffs.
