Lakeland Prep Names Brody Storey Athlete of the Week

Lakeland Preparatory School has named senior basketball player Brody Storey as its Athlete of the Week, recognizing his strong performance and growth on the court this season for the Lions.

Head Coach Tyler Boyd praised Storey’s development and impact, saying, “Brody has played well this season! We all are very proud of Brody and recognize his vast improvement. We are excited for him and his much deserved success.”

Storey has turned in several standout performances this year, including a 17-point, 3-assist, 10-rebound effort against Munford and an 18-point game against Crosstown, where he went 4-for-5 from three-point range while adding 3 assists and 6 rebounds. One of his most memorable moments came against Power Center Academy, when he knocked down a buzzer-beating three-pointer to force overtime.

According to his parents, Storey is considering pursuing basketball at the collegiate level next year, building on a senior season that has showcased his hard work, improvement, and leadership for Lakeland Prep.

During the school year, Lakeland Currents shines a spotlight on a standout athlete who exemplifies excellence both on and off the field for the Lions. This athlete spotlight will be based on a recommendation by the school’s athletic director and coaching staffs.
