Tuesday 6.9.20 COVID-19 report

Numbers from the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) for 6.9.20 include 6,119 cases: 4,115 recovered (67.2%); 133 deceased (+6 and 2.2%); and 1,871 current cases (30.6 %). There have been 89,428 tested in Shelby County: 93.2% negative and 6.9% positive.  Among nursing homes and facilities which serve vulnerable populations, there has been no increase with 56 deaths to date.  The overall testing positivity rate is 6.8%.   The information is from Joan Carr, public information officer for the SCHD.

The Health Department’s hotline number is 833-943-1658 and is answered daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  After-hours calls are returned on the next business day.  Since its inception March 12th, 5,671 calls have been received with 75 calls answered yesterday.
