COVID-19 updated numbers for Shelby, Tennessee -5.12.20

The Tuesday (5.12.20) report from the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) lists 3,421 virus cases (+106 from yesterday); 1,959 recovered cases (57.3%); 1,390 confirmed cases (40.6%); 72 deaths (+5); and 43,906 tests (+1,667). The overall testing positivity rate remains at 7.8%,  The information comes from Joan Carr, public information officer for the SCHD.

State numbers from yesterday include 15,544 cases (+559); 8,038 recovered (+510); 251 deaths (+8); 1,344 hospitalized (+19); and 273,277 tested (+11,408).

According to the state webpage, there has been one death in Fayette County with 60 recovered cases, 80 total cases and 1,562 negative labs.
