COVID-19 numbers from the SCHD and state 5.9.20

Today (5.9.20) the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) reports 38,961 total tests in Shelby County, an increase of 616 tests from Friday.  The overall testing positivity is 8.1%.  The information is from Joan Carr, SCHD public information officer.

There are 3,140 confirmed cases (+27 since yesterday) with 1,852 recovered (59%); 67 deaths (2.1%) +1 from yesterday; and 1,221 current cases (38.9%), 23 more than yesterday.  There have been 21 deaths in facilities which serve vulnerable populations.

In Tennessee there have been 14,441 cases (+345 since yesterday); 7,011 recovered (+228); 241 deaths (+4); 1,299 hospitalized (+33); and 243,578 tests (+7,250).
