Today’s COVID-19 numbers – 5.5.20 – Deaths increase by 4

The Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) today (5.5.20) reports 2,922 total cases of COVID-19: 1,558 recovered; 57 deceased; and 1,307 current cases, according to Joan Carr, public information officer for the SCHD.

Total COVID-19 tests in the County are 34,615: 2,922 positive (8.4%) and 31,693 negative (91.6%).

Among facilities which serve vulnerable populations, there are 21 deaths.

In Fayette County, there is one death from the virus, 47 recovered cases, 68 total cases and 1,219 negative labs.
