The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is investigating an alleged shooting of a dog at or near the Fairway Village Condos in Lakeland today (10.11.19).
John Morris, public information officer for the SCSO, said officers responded to the scene early this morning and an investigation is ongoing.
Posts to social media indicated a Lakeland resident walked up on a suspect early this morning who shot at the resident and shot a dog, injuring the dog. The dog was reportedly taken to a local veterinarian
Mr. Morris said the incident in the Stonebridge area of Lakeland is not believed to be related to two juveniles who ran away from a Bartlett detention facility last night and were captured in Lakeland this morning.
