The annual Rabies Vaccination Drive hosted by the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) Vector Control Program will be on two Saturdays: April 27th and May 11th at two locations for low-cost rabies vaccinations and license tags.
1 – 5 p.m.

Benjamin Hooks Library – 3030 Poplar Avenue
Shelby County East Government Complex – 1075 Mullins Station Rd in the Building W-1 parking lot.
The cost of the rabies tag varies according to the pet owner’s city of residence and the reproductive status of the pet, but the price includes both the rabies shot and the license tag for the pet’s collar. Below are the costs by municipality:
- Memphis and Unincorporated Shelby County- including Lakeland

Fertile: $25
- Germantown
Sterile: $20
Fertile: $25
- Bartlett
Sterile: $20
Fertile: $26
All dogs must be on a leash and cats in a carrier to ensure the safety of both the pet and the public, said Joan E. Carr, SCHD public health coordinator-risk communications, public health emergency preparedness program.
