Tennessee Department of Transportation. (TDOT) contract crews will be closing a portion of I-240 this weekend for paving activities, according to Nichole Lawrence | Region 4 community relations officer.
The FULL CLOSURES are as follows:
- Friday (4.26.19), 9 p.m. until Monday 4.29.19) 6 a. m:
FULL CLOSURE of I-240 east and westbound – I-240 will be closed between I-40 and SR 385. Poplar Avenue east and westbound bridges will be OPEN to cross I-240, but the ramps associated with I-240 will be CLOSED.

Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.
There will be lane closures on I-240 east and westbound and Poplar Ave east and westbound. The associated ramps from I-240 and Poplar Ave will also be CLOSED with the exception of Poplar westbound to I-240 eastbound. Detours will be provided as needed.
Friday, May 3, 9 p.m. until Monday, May 6, 6 a.m.
Friday, May 10, 9 p.m. until Monday, May 13, 6:00 a.m.
There will be lane closures on I-240 east and westbound and Poplar Ave east and westbound. Ramps associated with the lane closures from I-240 and Poplar Ave will also be CLOSED with the exception of Poplar westbound to I-240 eastbound and Poplar eastbound to I-240 westbound. Detours will be provided as needed.
During the closures, all interstate traffic will be detoured around the north I-40 loop and the south I-240 loop. Walnut Grove will be open, but access to I-240 will be prohibited. Message boards will alert motorists to the closures and alternate routes. Drivers are advised to plan ahead.
