Lakeland Elementary School (LES) students competed in the 2018/2019 Tennessee Amateur Athletic Union (TNAAU) Wrestling State Championship March 2 in Knoxville.
Tyrez “Rezzie” Jenkins (Arlington Wrestling Club) placed fourth out of the top 16 65-pound midget division wrestlers. Tyrez finished 1st in the Region 4 Championship to qualify for the state tournament. Tyrez is a 3rd grader at LES and is the son of Tramayne and Mimi Jenkins.
Chase Buckalew (Arlington Wrestling Club) placed fourth in the state in the 85-pound Midget division. Chase is a 3rd grader and is the son of Brian and Angie Buckalew. Chase finished 2nd in Region 4 Championship to qualify for the state tournament.

Alexis T Bonanno of Lakeland was named to the 2018 fall Dean’s List at the University of Montevallo in Alabama.
Rachel Lock of Lakeland was named to the fall Dean’s List at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR.
