Classes are cancelled again in the Lakeland School System (LSS) because of the frozen weather.
Dr. Ted Horrell, LSS superintendent, said schools are closed tomorrow (1.18.18). He cited the presence of icy roads in the neighborhoods and near both schools that could impact student and staff safety.
When asked, he said he didn’t expect to make up any of the snow days. “We have plenty of days stockpiled to cover what we’ve missed so far,” said Dr. Horrell.
So if you’re keeping score, Thursday will be snow day number four and day seven of a weekend which started Friday (1.12.18) for snow, included a Monday holiday for MLK Jr. observance and snow days on Tuesday and Wednesday. The snowfall dates were Jan. 12 and Jan. 16.
