LMPS PTO News: Fundraising and Homecoming Week

The new Lakeland school is hoping to raise $20,000 for school projects, according to Cindy Davis, LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) PTO president.

“We are very excited to be part of the very first PTO to support LMPS, and we are requesting your support for several initiatives at the school:  funding grants for teachers, stocking up our Makerspace with art and STEM supplies and providing special programs and events at the school. As a new school, we still have great need for new materials.  As a PTO, our goal is to raise $20,000.”

Mrs. Davis noted the fundraiser does not involve any selling, organizing or even to run laps. And she encouraged all to give to the fundraiser, even those without children at LMPS.Donate in the following ways:

  • Give online at this link: https://99pledges.com/fund/lmpsptofund .
  • Send a check made out to LMPS PTO via the school office. LMPS, 5020 Lions Crest Drive, Lakeland, TN  “This option helps us reduce overhead and keep more of the donation,” said Mrs. Davis.

“Every donation helps to make our school the best school in Shelby County and Tennessee. If you have any questions, please email us at lmps.pto.fundraiser@gmail.com.”

Another first for LMPS is Basketball Homecoming Nov. 13-17.

There will be a Homecoming Court with participation from all grades, with a winning couple from each grade. The Court will consist of three boys and girls from fifth and sixth grades, four boys and girls from seventh grade and five boys and girls from eighth grade.

The Homecoming Pep Rally will be Nov. 16 to announce the Court with winners announced during halftime of the game that evening.  There will also be a Homecoming Dance to celebrate the week.
