Lakeland Special Election Candidates – There Are Three

Three men are running for the vacated seat on the Lakeland Board of Commissioners.

The Shelby County Election Commission confirmed today that three of the four candidates who pulled petitions have returned their signed petitions by the noon today (4.13.17) deadline. The deadline to withdraw from the race is noon April 17.

Those running are Maurice Denbow, Billy Rodgers and Wesley Wright.  Tim Joyce pulled a petition but did not return the completed form by today.

Voters will go to the polls May 25 to select a replacement commissioner for Michele Dial who resigned March 9 because of family health issues. The BOC (Board of Commissioners) approved the election during a March meeting.

The City charter requires a special election for the second vacancy on the Board.  Matt Wright was appointed to replace Sherri Gallick who moved out of town in February.

Early voting will be at The Refuge Church.  Election Day, May 25, voting locations will be by precinct. Link to locations: https://lakelandcurrents.com/?p=1875&preview=true .
