Frozen Landscape = Recycling to Saturday; City Hall Open Today

Jim Atkinson, Lakeland city manager, said this morning that recycle pickup scheduled for today (1.12.19) is delayed until Saturday due to the winter weather.

He added that City Hall is open today with only a couple of staff members unable to make it to work.  “Crews have been out sanding/salting since early this morning and will continue all day,” he said.

Lakeland is experiencing snow and sleet and temps in the low 20s.

There are additional trash/recycling delays next week in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday (1.15.18). Trash service will be delayed by one day next week. Recycle scheduled for Friday (1.19.18) will be collected on Saturday (1.20.18).

A special class at the Lakeland Senior Center (LSC) today has been postponed because of the weather.  The Painted Paper Collage/Mixed Media Art Workshop planned is postponed until Jan. 19. New time is 10 a.m. to Noon.  Register by calling 746-8195.

Monday is a holiday at City Hall, LSC and for Lakeland School System staff, faculty and students.
