Reed placed second out of the top 32 120-pound wrestlers in the TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) State Individual Wrestling Tournament Feb. 15-17 in Franklin, TN.  He is a junior and the son of Lisa and Joe Cannon.

AHS Coach Andrew Sossaman said the School had ten wrestlers who received medals at the regional tournament and qualified for the state tournament.  “Of those 10 we had 3 earn medals. The division 1 public school division has 32 wrestlers in each weight class at the state tournament, so placing in the top 6 is very difficult.”  He said Reed also became the first finalist in school history.

Mrs. Cannon said her son is a 3X Region Champ, 3X State Medalist and the only 3X State Medalist in Arlington High’s history.

Lakeland students attend AHS through an interlocal agreement until a high school is built in the City.
